Church Vision

The vision statement for our church is "Through Christ, Blessing the World." It is a simple way of describing the larger purpose behind everything we do at Coon Rapids Free. But it also needs a bit of explanation, so let me take a few moments to unpack this idea with some Old Testament background.

In Psalm 67 the purpose of God's blessing upon Israel is that all the nations may fear him and know his salvation: "God, be merciful to us and bless us [our nation, Israel], and cause his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. Let the peoples praise you, O God! Let all the peoples praise you. Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy!"

Holy Spirit Sermon

A Note from Pastor Ronn:

As we come to the end of our summer sermon series on the Holy Spirit, it would be good to pause and consider what difference the Spirit makes to our Christian life. I asked this question in front of some students awhile back, and it was interesting to hear their responses. They weren’t quite sure how to phrase it, but the fact that he’s real and present in their daily experience did make a difference. As one student put it, “Imagine if we didn’t have the Holy Spirit—we’d really feel like Jesus really left us hanging out to dry!”

For us, let’s start with three questions, and think of how the Holy Spirit answers each one...
