2007 Guatemala Trip On June 16th, 2007, 3 sponsors and 12 youth/young adults flew to Guatemala City, Guatemala. We then rode a bus to Zacapa, Guatemala, where we stayed at an orphanage called House of Hope. There are 25 orphans there being raised by loving parents who are also missionaries from the states. We had the opportunity to minister while there by spending time with the children, painting, digging for cement work, making cement and spreading it, and moving blocks. In town, we were able to help teach English lessons with another missionary at a Christian church that mainly reaches out to young teens through about 40 year olds. We also had the adventure of hiking a mountain and ministering to the village people there. We played with the children, brought gifts, gave testimonies, and Pastor Russ Benson gave a short sermon. We were all challenged and blessed by God whether working on the construction or ministering to and with the people of Guatemala. Thank you all for your support and prayers. |
